President of Cyprus in Brussels for EU Council Meeting

The President of the Republic, Nikos Christodoulides, is in Brussels to participate in the European Council meeting and hold high-level contacts. During his visit, he will present the vision and priorities of the Cypriot Presidency of the Council of the EU, focusing on strengthening the Union's strategic autonomy, enhancing European security and defense, and promoting a united and effective Europe. He will meet with the President of the European Commission, Ursula von der Leyen, to discuss regional developments, the issue of foot-and-mouth disease, and efforts to restart negotiations on the Cyprus issue. Additionally, he will participate in the Tripartite Social Summit and meet with United Nations Secretary-General Antonio Guterres.
