The Deputy Chief of the Cyprus National Guard, Lieutenant General Neofytos Pachoulidis, visited the United States from February 28th to March 3rd, accompanied by a delegation of officers. During the visit, he met with high-ranking officials from the National Guard Bureau and the New Jersey National Guard. Discussions focused on specific proposals for military cooperation and geopolitical developments in the Eastern Mediterranean. The visit is part of the Cyprus-US strategic cooperation in the field of defense. Particular emphasis was placed on the importance of the 'State Partnership Program – SPP', which serves as the institutional framework for long-term military cooperation between the two countries. The meetings at the Pentagon and with the New Jersey National Guard aimed to strengthen mutual understanding and explore new ways of cooperation. The exchange of views on current security challenges in the Eastern Mediterranean region was considered particularly important. The visit of the Deputy Chief of the National Guard underscores Cyprus' commitment to strengthening its military cooperation with the United States, contributing to the promotion of regional stability and security.
