Engraved Figurine Unearthed at Excavation in Ano Rodia

Excavations conducted in Ano Rodia, Paphos, have revealed significant findings, including a fragment of an engraved figurine made of picrolite. The archaeological mission from the Aristotle University of Thessaloniki, led by Assistant Professor Maria Dinou, carried out research in both Ano and Kato Rodia. In Ano Rodia, the excavation uncovered stones arranged in a curved pattern, potentially part of a structure, as well as abundant stone tools, showing similarities to previous discoveries. In Kato Rodia, the excavation of specific stratigraphic squares was completed, also revealing numerous stone artifacts. The discovery of the figurine and the overall findings are expected to contribute to a better understanding of the prehistoric site and the cultures that inhabited it.
