Twelve Arrests Made During Enhanced Police Operations

The Cyprus Police proceeded with the arrest of twelve individuals across the island during enhanced preventative operations carried out last night. The arrests relate to various offenses, including illegal stay in the Republic, illegal possession of property, outstanding warrants, illegal employment, and possession of burglary tools. In addition, four vehicles were impounded as part of investigations into traffic offenses. Checks were carried out at 29 premises, with 12 reported for various violations. During the night, over 540 traffic checks were conducted, resulting in 110 reports for offenses, of which 37 concerned speeding. These operations are part of a broader, ongoing, and enhanced preventative plan by the Police, with increased presence, targeted checks, and immediate action, aiming to prevent crime and enhance the sense of security among citizens.
