President of Cyprus Prepares Two Measures to Benefit Turkish Cypriots

The President of Cyprus, Nikos Christodoulides, has prepared two unilateral measures to benefit Turkish Cypriots, focusing on health and the economy. However, he has requested the positive position of the Turkish Cypriot leader, Tufan Erhürman, before announcing them, seeking to avoid tensions between the two communities and build a personal relationship. Simultaneously, the UN Secretary-General's special envoy, Maria Angela Holguin, is expected to visit Cyprus by the end of the month, having previously held contacts in Geneva, Brussels, and Washington. President Christodoulides has accepted her request for a meeting and proposed a joint meeting with Mr. Erhürman, but has not yet received a response.
