Two Exotic Fruits as a 'Shield' for Our Heart

A new study has shown that consuming avocados and mangoes may improve the function of blood vessels in adults with prediabetes. Specifically, daily consumption of one medium avocado and one cup of mango improved blood flow and reduced diastolic blood pressure compared to a control group following a similar diet without these fruits. The study, published in the Journal of the American Heart Association, showed a 6.7% improvement in vessel dilation in the avocado and mango group, while the control group experienced a 4.6% decrease. Researchers believe the benefits are due to the antioxidant properties of the fruits and their increased content of nitric oxide.
