West Bank: Arab World Condemns Land Ownership Measures

The Palestinian Authority, Egypt and Qatar have condemned Israel's adoption of new land ownership measures in the West Bank, which they believe strengthen Israel's control and increase the risk of annexation. These measures include facilitating land purchases by settlers and initiating the registration of land ownership for the first time since 1967. According to the Israeli side, the registration process aims to clarify property rights and resolve legal disputes. However, Palestinians fear that the measures represent a step towards de facto annexation. Egypt described the decision as a "dangerous escalation" that violates international agreements, while Qatar stated that the measures aim to "deprive the Palestinian people of their rights." The Palestinian Authority described the actions as "legally invalid." The Israeli government has intensified settlement activity in the West Bank, with more than 500,000 Israelis living in settlements there. This move has drawn international criticism, as it is considered an obstacle to achieving a peaceful solution.
