Yiannos Kougioumtzian completed his participation in the Slalom of the Milano–Cortina 2026 Winter Olympic Games, finishing 34th overall with a time of 2:19.46. Out of 96 athletes who started, only 39 completed both runs, highlighting the difficulty of the event. In the first run, Kougioumtzian recorded a time of 1:10.88 in challenging conditions due to snowfall. In the second run, with improved weather conditions, he demonstrated composure and consistency, maintaining his time and securing his final position. The Cypriot athlete expressed his satisfaction with the experience and completion of the race, emphasizing the difficulties of Slalom compared to Giant Slalom and the importance of concentration to avoid mistakes. He thanked the Cyprus Olympic Committee, his federation, his family, and his friends for their support. Kougioumtzian's participation in the Milano–Cortina 2026 Games is his second consecutive Olympic participation, confirming his continuous development and the representation of Cyprus at the international ski level.
