Demosthenes Murder: All 6 Defendants Appear in Court for the First Time

With a coordinated action plan and under draconian security measures, the six defendants in the murder of 49-year-old businessman Stavros Demosthenes will appear tomorrow, Thursday, January 29th, before the Limassol Permanent Criminal Court. The execution of the businessman took place on the morning of October 17th, 2025, in the Sfalangiotissa area, just 500 meters from the victim's residence. Demosthenes was shot dead in front of his child, while he was a passenger in the car, causing a shock. For the first time, the defendants will all be together in court, as their referral took place in two separate procedures in the past. The charges against the defendants include premeditated murder, conspiracy to commit a felony, arson, illegal possession, transport and use of firearms, illegal possession, transport and use of explosives, vehicle theft, participation in a criminal organization and theft (only for the 51-year-old defendant). According to the latest information from the TAE Limassol investigative team during the detention and referral procedures, three of the defendants had occasional roles, while the three Greek expatriates from Georgia appear to have played a leading role in the “contract killing” of the 49-year-old businessman. The 28-year-old A.Z. is considered the person who executed Stavros Demosthenes. Strict security measures have been taken for the transfer of the defendants and the conduct of the trial.
