Lawyer Kenan Ayaz: The Struggle Continues at the ECHR

The lawyer of Kurdish activist Kenan Ayaz, Eustathios Eustathiou, announced that Ayaz has been released after 3.5 years of detention, however, his case continues at the European Court of Human Rights (ECHR). The examination of the appeal concerning issues of fair trial, freedom of assembly and association is pending. Ayaz retains the international protection status granted to him by the Republic of Cyprus and continues to enjoy this protection. Despite his release, Ayaz remains committed to the struggle for the rights of the Kurdish people and a free Cyprus. He is closely monitoring the situation in northeastern Syria and expresses optimism for the eventual liberation of Kurdistan and Cyprus.
