Poll Reveals Citizen Discontent with Cypriot Political Leaders

A recent poll conducted by the newspaper "F" reveals widespread discontent among Cypriot citizens towards their political leaders. The majority of citizens express negative views on their politics, with only two exceptions: Annita Dimitriou and Odysseus Michaelides, who receive slightly more positive evaluations. The gap between positive and negative opinions is smaller for these two compared to other leaders. Stefanos Stefanou (AKEL) and Stavros Papadouris (Ecologists) follow, with a higher percentage of negative than positive opinions. Even lower are Christos Christou (ELAM) and Nikolas Papadopoulos (DIKO), with significantly higher rates of negative assessment. The lowest positive ratings are recorded for Pheidi Papayiotou, Nikos Anastasiou (EDEK), and Marios Karoyian (DIPA), with the latter having the lowest percentage of positive votes and the highest negative one. Despite the differences, all political leaders appear to have positive responses from their party voters. Stefanos Stefanou and Christos Christou are particularly popular among AKEL and ELAM voters, respectively, while Odysseus Michaelides has significant recognition among Ecologists voters. The poll also reveals a general feeling that parties are not responding to the needs of Cypriot society, with the majority of citizens believing that modernization and leadership change are needed. There is a broad consensus that parties are unable to effectively address citizens' problems, leading to a growing trend towards seeking new political formations.
