Dallas Mavericks star Kyrie Irving will miss the remainder of the season as he continues his recovery from surgery on his left knee. The injury, a torn anterior cruciate ligament, required surgery in March 2026, and his goal is to return fully ready for the next season, 2026-27. His agent, Settelia Riley Irving, stated that Irving wants to return "1000% ready" to compete for the championship. The 33-year-old guard also missed the last 20 games of last season due to the same injury. Irving's absence significantly impacts the Mavericks, as the team has a record of 75-53 with him in the lineup and 42-75 without him. Currently, the Mavericks are in 12th place in the West with a record of 19-35 and have begun a rebuilding process, trading Anthony Davis to the Washington Wizards.
