Cyprus Ranks 49th in Corruption Perception Index

Cyprus ranks 49th out of 182 countries in the 2025 Corruption Perception Index, falling three places from 2024. The country also scored 55 points, down from 56. The Index, published by Transparency International, assesses perceived corruption in the public sector based on factors such as bribery, embezzlement, nepotism, and access to information. It does not, however, examine citizens' direct experiences or corruption in the private sector. The highest-scoring countries are Denmark, Finland, and Singapore, while the lowest-scoring are North Korea, Syria, and Nicaragua. Transparency International's report highlights global instability and the need for leaders with integrity and strong institutions to address the challenges.
