Denmark's King Frederik X Begins Three-Day Visit to Greenland

The King of Denmark, Frederik X, begins a three-day visit to Greenland today, starting in the capital Nuuk, where he will meet with Prime Minister Jens-Frederik Nielsen. The visit comes at a time of increased diplomatic tension, following Donald Trump's proposal for US control of the island. King Frederik has expressed his solidarity with the Greenlandic people and condemned Trump's statements. During his visit, the King will visit various parts of Greenland and meet with local entrepreneurs and military personnel. Despite the colonial past, Danish kings are popular in Greenland, while the US insists on the strategic importance of the island.
