Two-Hour Work Stoppage Announced at the Electricity Authority of Cyprus (EAC)

The four trade unions of the Electricity Authority of Cyprus (EAC) announced a two-hour warning work stoppage for February 27, from 8:00 am to 10:00 am. This decision was made in response to electricity shortages, rising costs, the disconnection of photovoltaic systems, and water scarcity, which are attributed to erratic policies and a lack of strategic planning. The unions express their concern about the degradation of the EAC and its inability to meet the needs of the population. Additionally, they mention the existence of pending labor issues that hinder the operation of the Organization. The announcement emphasizes the determination of the staff to fight to protect and safeguard the EAC.
