AKEL General Secretary Pledges to Promote War Prisoners' Demands in Parliament

The General Secretary of AKEL, Stefanos Stefanou, pledged to promote the demands of war prisoners in Parliament. The commitment was made during a meeting with a delegation of the Association of War Prisoners of 1974, where issues affecting prisoners and the lack of a structured support framework after 52 years were discussed. The Association raised the need for correct maintenance of the prisoners' registry and their inclusion in the reduced pricing of EAC. Stefanou assured that these issues would be brought before the Parliamentary Committee on Refugees to initiate solutions, emphasizing AKEL’s consistency in addressing issues concerning prisoners and those affected.
