Dendias: Greece's Support for Cyprus is a National Duty

Defense Minister Nikos Dendias emphasized in an interview with "To Vima tis Kiriakis" that Greece has a duty to support Cyprus, describing indifference in this difficult situation as historically and nationally unforgivable. The deployment of F-16 fighter jets and the frigates "Kimon" and "Psara" aims to protect the Republic of Cyprus, creating a shield of security. Mr. Dendias stated that Greece's rapid mobilization was instrumental in activating European solidarity, with other countries following Greece's example in sending forces. He also praised the effectiveness of the Armed Forces in rapidly organizing and executing the operation. Furthermore, the minister highlighted the expansion of Greece's geopolitical footprint in the Eastern Mediterranean, with the conduct of five operations abroad, and its emergence as a guarantor of stability and security in the region.
