Ten Arrests Made During Proactive Police Operations

The Cyprus Police conducted extensive proactive operations across the island on Saturday night, aiming to prevent criminal activities, ensure public order, and increase citizens' sense of security. During the operations, 10 individuals were arrested for various offenses, including illegal stay, drug possession, assault, and impersonation. A total of 892 drivers and passengers were stopped and checked, and 39 premises were inspected. Ten individuals were reported for various offenses that arose from the checks. In addition, 120 traffic violations were reported, and 17 cases are under further investigation. Of the traffic violations, 51 reports concerned driving under the influence of alcohol and 40 for exceeding the speed limit. 20 vehicles were impounded as part of the police investigations. Police operations continue daily with increased presence, targeted checks, and immediate action, with the aim of protecting citizens and ensuring public order.
