Why Gen Z is Turning Back to Religion - UK Study

Recent research by YouGov and Bible Society in the United Kingdom reveals an unexpected shift towards increased religiosity among Generation Z. 45% of 18-24 year olds now state they believe in God, almost triple the 16% in 2021, while monthly church attendance has risen from 4% to 16% during the same period. The need for purpose and stability in an unstable world, digital fatigue, and the search for community appear to be the main drivers of this trend. Social media also plays a role, often serving as the first point of contact with religious ideas. Furthermore, a turn towards more traditional forms of faith is observed, with a particularly noticeable increase in participation among young men.
