Students Honor Tempi Train Crash Victim with Emotional Tribute

Students and teachers at Kokkinochoria High School honored the memory of 23-year-old Cyprianos Papaioannou, a victim of the tragic train accident in Tempi. The event included a performance of his favorite song, "Where Did You Put Your Heart," by the students, as well as speeches from the school principal who spoke of the young man's character and kindness. Cyprianos, a student at the Aristotle University of Thessaloniki, had traveled to Athens to meet his fiancée. He was returning to Thessaloniki on the ill-fated train when it collided with a freight train. The news of Cyprianos' death had shocked the community of Avgorou, as he was one of the six children of the community priest. His body was identified a few days later, plunging Kokkinochoria into mourning. This event serves as a tribute and remembrance of Cyprianos, as well as a reminder of the tragedy experienced by the families of the Tempi victims.
