Iran Embassy Claims Foreign Interference in Recent Protests

The Embassy of Iran in Nicosia states that there was foreign interference in the recent protests in Iran. According to reports from state agencies in the country, the initial phase of the demonstrations was peaceful, concerning the economic situation, and authorities cooperated with union representatives to address concerns. However, the protests escalated with the involvement of violent elements, armed with firearms, targeting security personnel and innocent civilians. The Embassy asserts that the involvement of the United States and Israel is clear and acknowledged, and that security forces seized more than 1,300 weapons from terrorist groups. It considers the current situation a direct continuation of the US-Israeli military aggression against Iran in 2025. Furthermore, it reports that over 80% of the population desires an end to the unrest and accountability for the rioters. According to Iran, 70% of citizens attribute the cause of the events to foreign incitement, while only 30% to domestic economic issues. The Embassy relays this information as part of Iran's effort to present a specific perspective on the events and justify the actions of the authorities.
