UK Defense Secretary Updates Parliament on Actions in Cyprus Bases

British Defense Secretary John Healey updated the British Parliament on the actions taken by the United Kingdom to strengthen its military forces in the Middle East, including in Cyprus. The bases in Cyprus have been reinforced with 400 personnel since January, primarily with an air defense team. Additionally, four Typhoon fighter jets, three Wildcat helicopters, and one Merlin helicopter have been deployed, while the HMS Dragon destroyer will sail soon. Healey stated that British forces in Cyprus are on daily alert due to air defense alarms and that the UK has carried out more than 230 hours of flights. The wreckage of a drone that hit the British base in Akrotiri is being analyzed to determine its origin.
