France Moves to Ban Social Media for Under-15s

France is set to become the first European country to impose an age limit on access to social networks, with the adoption of a law banning their use by children under the age of 15. The bill, supported by President Emmanuel Macron's government, was approved by the lower house of parliament and is expected to be examined by the Senate. The aim of the law is to protect the health of children and adolescents from the potential negative effects of social media. Macron himself expressed his satisfaction with the approval of the law, calling it a “major step.”
