North Korean leader Kim Jong Un oversaw a test launch of cruise missiles from a new 5,000-ton naval destroyer, the No. 51 Choe Hyon, on Tuesday. The test took place off the west coast of Nampho and aimed to assess the capabilities of the new ship. Kim Jong Un's daughter, Kim Ju Ae, and generals were also present at the launch. According to state media, the test was successful and confirmed the reliability of North Korea's integrated strategic weapons command and control system. Kim Jong Un also announced that future destroyers will be equipped with hypersonic weapon systems, aiming to strengthen the country's nuclear capabilities.
