Rain, Storms and Snow in the Mountains – When Will Temperatures Rise?

A low-pressure system is affecting Cyprus, causing rain, storms, and a drop in temperature, especially on the coasts and in the mountains. Snow or sleet is expected on the highest peaks of Troodos, with the possibility of frost. Winds will be light to moderate, and the sea will be rough. The weather pattern is expected to continue until the middle of the week, with local showers, isolated thunderstorms, and the possibility of hail. The temperature will gradually rise. Tonight, cloud cover will increase and bring local rain or thunderstorms, mainly on the coasts and in the mountains, with the possibility of frost in the higher mountains. Tomorrow, the weather will be temporarily cloudy with local rain and thunderstorms, initially in the west and mountains, and later in the interior and north. The temperature will rise to 18 degrees Celsius inland and on the west and north coasts, to 19 degrees on the other coasts, and to 8 degrees in the mountains. On Monday, Tuesday, and Wednesday, intermittent local showers and thunderstorms are expected. Hail is possible during thunderstorms, and snow or sleet is likely on the highest peaks of Troodos. The temperature will rise slightly, approaching the average climatic values. The snow depth at the ski resort is currently 29 centimeters.
