Babies and Elderly Evacuated to Hotels in Limassol – Civil Defence Conducts Door-to-Door Checks for the Third Time

The Civil Defence remains on high alert and continues efforts to fully evacuate and support the residents of Akrotiri. So far, 80 people, including the elderly, people with mobility issues, and families with babies, have been proactively transferred to hotels in Limassol. Civil Defence members are conducting door-to-door checks for the third time, urging the last residents to leave, however, there is no legislation allowing for mandatory evacuation without their consent. A hall is also being prepared in a local school to provide assistance during the night. It remains unclear when residents will be able to return to their homes.
