Bosnia: Preliminary Investigation into Nazi Salutes at Concerts by Croatian Singer

The Bosnian judiciary has launched a preliminary investigation into two concerts by the ultra-nationalist Croatian singer Marko Perković, known as Thompson, following media reports showing spectators performing Nazi salutes. Perković is a controversial figure, known for his ultra-nationalist views and his music is often associated with Nazi symbols. At his concerts, his audience often demonstrates sympathy for the Nazis, using the Nazi salute and slogans from World War II. The incident sparked strong reactions in Bosnia, with politicians calling for a ban on Perković's entry into the country. The Israeli ambassador to Bosnia condemned the scenes of hatred and called on the authorities to deal with the incident severely and hold those responsible accountable. Perković himself denies the accusations, claiming that his songs do not promote Nazism.
