The wife of the Mayor of Paphos, Faidon Phaidonos, Louisa Andreou, has stepped forward to respond to accusations by Anny Alexiou regarding an alleged assault. In a Facebook post, Ms. Andreou described the accusations as part of a coordinated attack against her family, aimed at politically harming her husband. She stated that she does not need protection and is not afraid. Ms. Andreou emphasized the harmonious relationship she has with her husband for the past 20 years, describing him as a dignified and honest man. She categorically rejected the claims of violence and asked that political games not be involved in her family life. The Police, for their part, stated that they will not make any public statement regarding the accusations, but that they are examining Ms. Alexiou's claims on social media. However, they clarified that this does not automatically mean the start of an official investigation. The case has caused considerable interest and discussion, as it involves public figures and the truth of the events is being questioned. The reaction of the Mayor of Paphos's wife is an attempt to protect her family and restore her husband's reputation.
