Massive Ukrainian Missile and Drone Attack on Belgorod

Ukrainian armed forces launched a massive attack with missiles and drones on the Russian Belgorod region on Saturday. The attack caused damage to energy infrastructure and homes, according to local authorities. Governor Vyacheslav Gladkov described the attack as the most intense wave of attacks the region has experienced to date. According to Gladkov, energy infrastructure has been destroyed and one building caught fire, with firefighters working to extinguish it. Debris from a downed drone caused a fire in a residential yard, and damage was reported to two homes in the Tavrova community. The Belgorod region, which borders Ukraine, has been frequently targeted by Ukrainian attacks since the start of the war in 2022, causing property damage and disruptions to essential infrastructure. This attack marks an escalation of the conflict in the region, with potential implications for the safety of residents and the operation of infrastructure.
