Torture Case in Larnaca: Suspects Remain in Custody, New Evidence Emerges

Two men, aged 48 and 27, appeared before the Larnaca District Court on 14 charges related to a torture case uncovered in Pyla. The charges include conspiracy, illegal possession of firearms, kidnapping with intent to cause grievous harm, assaults, and others. Police requested and received a renewal of their detention for five days. The investigation has revealed victim testimonies identifying the perpetrators in videos and alleging they transferred their vehicles under threat. Other victims have been identified, some of whom are abroad. Statements have been taken from many individuals, including victims, their families, and those related to the property where the torture allegedly occurred. Police expect to take further statements. The investigation is ongoing, with police examining videos and other evidence. The court was informed of the “large volume of evidence” gathered, raising the possibility of new arrests.
