Step-by-Step Guide on Completing the TF59 Form for Tax Deductions

Published January 27, 2026, 13:23

The Tax Department is informing taxpayers about the changes brought by the tax reform regarding deductions and completing the TF59 form. The form must be submitted to employers before the completion of the monthly payroll. The tax reform provides for an increase in the tax-free allowance and a revision of the tax brackets, resulting in a positive difference in salaries from January. Employees complete the white boxes in Part A and B of the form, while the employer completes points A1, A2, A6, A8 and B6. A significant change is that gross rents must be declared only by bank transfer or other electronic means to be valid in the event of an audit. In addition, property owners must submit provisional tax by July 31, in two installments (July 31 and December 31). Failure to submit will result in administrative penalties. A deduction for home insurance against natural disasters has been added to Part B of the form, with a maximum amount of 500 euros per year. The tax reform aims to simplify the tax process and enhance transparency.
