16% Increase in Winter Air Traffic at Cyprus Airports

Air traffic at Larnaca and Paphos airports has increased by 16% during the winter season (November-January) compared to the previous year. This increase is attributed to the efforts of the tourism industry and agreements with airlines to strengthen year-round connectivity to Cyprus. Larnaca Airport serves flights from 30 airlines to 54 destinations in 33 countries, with the addition of 4 new markets (Spain, Belgium, Slovakia, North Macedonia) and 10 new destinations. Paphos Airport is served by 8 airlines flying to 35 destinations in 17 countries, with the resumption of the Paphos-Amman route and the addition of Dusseldorf and Haifa. Despite geopolitical tensions in the Middle East, there has been no observed impact on air traffic to Cyprus so far, although there is a possibility of temporary disruptions to flight plans. According to Hermes Airports, Cyprus can act as a "bridge of peace" during times of crisis.
