Foot-and-Mouth Disease: Wild Sheep Shelters in Platanias and Stavros Psokas Temporarily Closed

The Forestry Department has announced the temporary closure of wild sheep shelters in Platanias and Stavros Psokas as a precautionary measure to protect animal health and limit the spread of foot-and-mouth disease. The decision is due to the possibility of transmission of the disease to wild animals housed in the structures. The Forestry Department calls on the public to comply with preventive instructions to protect animals and preserve the biodiversity of Cyprus. The closure of the structures will remain in effect until further notice.
