Disinfection Tanks Constructed in Paphos to Prevent Foot-and-Mouth Disease

Livestock farm owners in Timi and Anarita, Paphos, are constructing disinfection tanks as a preventative measure against foot-and-mouth disease, following instructions from the Ierokipia Municipality. The tanks, 25 centimeters deep, will be used to disinfect vehicles entering and leaving the livestock farms. There are eight livestock farms in Timi, and similar facilities in Anarita. The Deputy Mayor of Timi recommends that livestock farmers take additional protective measures and a briefing for farmers by a health worker from the Municipality is scheduled. So far, no cases of foot-and-mouth disease have been recorded in Paphos, but authorities are calling for vigilance.
