Foot-and-Mouth Disease: Two New Farms Quarantined in Oroklini

Two new farms in Oroklini have been quarantined after the detection of foot-and-mouth disease cases. The measures being implemented are the same as those already in place in the Livadia area, where the first case was detected. These include the establishment of restriction and surveillance zones, a ban on the movement of animals and animal products, and laboratory tests. The sheep and goats at the Oroklini farms will be slaughtered. The Veterinary Services are investigating information about possible concealment of cases by other farms and assure that affected farmers are being informed immediately.
