Emergency Measures in Livestock Units in Aradippou Municipality Due to Foot-and-Mouth Disease

The Mayor of Aradippou, Christodoulos Partos, announced a series of emergency measures to address the crisis affecting livestock units in the area due to foot-and-mouth disease. The measures include the construction of wheel washes and disinfection tanks, the supply of water for vehicle spraying, the restriction of traffic in livestock zones, and the placement of specialized sponges on roads. The Mayor emphasized that the Municipality could have participated in previous meetings to contribute directly to decision-making. Also, there is cooperation with the Municipality of Athienou and the expected visit of experts from the European Union. Cases have been identified in two units, and the Mayor stressed the need for financial and psychological support for farmers.
