This is the Successor to Khamenei

Mojtaba Hosseini Khamenei, son of Iran's Supreme Leader Ali Khamenei, has been elected as the next leader of the country, under pressure from the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC). Born in 1969, Mojtaba has studied Theology and has been a member of the Revolutionary Guards, participating in the suppression of protests in 2009. Although he has never held official state office, he is considered one of the most influential figures in Iranian power, with strong ties to the Revolutionary Guards. His selection as successor breaks with Iranian tradition, as succession is not based on heredity. This decision has sparked reactions, as many consider it undemocratic. The selection of Mojtaba was made by a body of 88 clerics, which constitutes the Assembly of Experts. The Iranian Constitution provides for the process of selecting the successor, which must be done as soon as possible after the death of the previous leader. The majority of the members of the Assembly are staunch supporters of the regime.
