Spending Limit Set for Parliamentary Candidates – Rules for Social Media Advertising

The spending limit for each parliamentary candidate in the upcoming elections has been set at €25,000, plus €5,000 for personal expenses, according to legislation. Candidates are urged not to exceed this limit, as doing so will result in a fine equal to the amount exceeded. There is no spending limit for political parties, but they are required to submit detailed income and expenditure statements within four months of the election. Political advertising is also permitted on social media. Providers of advertising services are obliged to send information to the Auditor General of the Republic.
