Volt Announces 56 Candidates for Upcoming Elections

The Volt party has announced its 56 proposed candidates for the May 2026 Parliamentary Elections. Final approval of the candidates will be done by the party members through an online vote on February 26, 2026. Among the candidates are journalist Makarios Drousiotis in the district of Nicosia, co-chair Andromachi Sofocleous and MP Alexandra Attalidou, also in Nicosia, and co-chair Panos Loizou Paras in Limassol. The party emphasizes that the ballot was formed based on collective responsibility and representativeness, with people from different fields (science, entrepreneurship, new generation). The average age of the candidates is 48.8 years and the percentage of women is 41.1%. Volt aims to submit a ballot of responsibility, in a period of intense distrust of politics. The party's goal is to strengthen Democracy and make the Parliament a substantial mechanism of control, transparency and efficiency. Voting for Volt, according to the party, is not a protest, but a choice of serious political presence.
