Increases in the monthly salaries of state officials for 2026 have been announced, compared to 2025, as revealed by the state budget approved by Parliament. The increase affects the President of the Republic, the Attorney General, Supreme Court Justices, the President of the House of Representatives, Ministers, Deputy Ministers, the Government Spokesperson, and Members of Parliament. The President of the Republic will receive a gross monthly salary of €14,401 (up from €14,397 in 2025) and a net salary of €9,145 (up from €9,016). The Attorney General and Supreme Court Justices will receive €13,531 gross (up from €13,519) and €9,207 net (up from €9,082). The President of the House of Representatives will see her gross salary increase to €11,456 (from €11,444) and her net salary to €7,461 (from €7,333). Ministers, Deputy Ministers, and the Government Spokesperson will receive €9,343 gross (from €9,334) and €6,078 net (from €5,957). Finally, Members of Parliament will receive €7,911 gross (up from €7,785) and €5,466 net (up from €5,272), recording the largest percentage increase compared to the previous year. These increases are marginal for some, but significant for others, such as Members of Parliament.
