Atletico Madrid to Offer Alvarez a Significant Contract Extension

Atletico Madrid has no intention of selling Julian Alvarez, despite strong interest from Barcelona. Instead, the club's management is preparing a significant contract extension for the Argentinian forward as a demonstration of their confidence and to keep him away from other teams. Alvarez's current contract expires in 2030 and provides for annual earnings of 7 million euros, including bonuses. The new proposal amounts to 10 million euros, with 9 million being fixed earnings, making him the highest-paid player on the team. Alvarez's contract includes a release clause of 500 million euros, providing additional security for Atletico. Alvarez was acquired from Manchester City in the summer of 2024 and has scored 46 goals and 17 assists in 101 appearances for Atletico.
