Aradippou: One Farm Appears Positive for Foot-and-Mouth Disease

A livestock unit in Aradippou appears to be positive for foot-and-mouth disease, according to Mayor Christodoulos Partou. The Municipality has not received official notification from State Services regarding the case and which unit it concerns. As a result, the livestock area of Aradippou, consisting of approximately 25 units, will be closed. Two of the three entrances to the area will be closed, while one will remain open for vehicle inspection and disinfection. The Mayor stated that they are awaiting official information from the Veterinary Services to identify the specific unit affected, in order to take appropriate measures. The Municipality has already supported the disinfection efforts, in cooperation with the Ministry of Agriculture and Veterinary Services. The Aradippou area has approximately 25 livestock units and the situation is being closely monitored to prevent further spread of foot-and-mouth disease. State services are expected to provide more information and assistance to the Municipality to address the situation.
