Cyprus Sigma Poll Reveals Voter Concerns Ahead of Elections

Sigma's major poll, to be broadcast tonight on "Without Spin", focuses on both quantitative and qualitative data ahead of the parliamentary elections. Yannis Kareklas emphasized that the research was designed to capture the real mood of society, beyond superficial impressions, examining evaluation by sector (foreign policy, economy, labor, etc.). He expressed concern about the potential "political apathy" of the electorate, warning of the negative consequences of a vote based on anger or frustration. At the same time, he acknowledged the anger of the people, blaming the political leaders who never made substantial changes after each election. Mr. Kareklas warned of the risk of a "clown and circus Parliament" and an ineffective National Council, if society does not seriously consider before the elections. The poll is the first of four to be conducted by May and examines the direction of the country, the dominant feeling of citizens, satisfaction with the government and Parliament, as well as the motives for voting. The research also delves into the effectiveness of the new Parliament, the priorities of citizens, party representation and voting intention, including voter shifts and support for emerging parties. Analysts and party representatives will participate in the broadcast.
