Attempted Murder in Limassol: Two Brothers Handed Over by British Bases

Two brothers, suspected of involvement in the attempted murder of a 36-year-old Syrian man in Limassol on December 20th, have been handed over to Cypriot authorities by the British Bases. The suspects were located during a maritime patrol while attempting to flee by boat. A pursuit ensued with the assistance of the Larnaca Port Police, and both men were arrested. The attempted murder took place outside a cafe, with the assailants initially attacking the 36-year-old with stun guns and then wounding him with a sharp object on his left shoulder blade. The man was transported to a hospital and admitted to the Intensive Care Unit in critical condition. The two suspects are expected to be interrogated and brought before the Limassol District Court for a remand request. Additionally, the father of one of the brothers is also wanted, as he is alleged to have assisted them after the attempted murder. Police investigations are ongoing to fully clarify the circumstances of the incident and identify all those involved.
