A fire that broke out in a residence in Arodes, Akamas Peninsula, was caused by a faulty fireplace, according to investigations by authorities. The fire, which started shortly after 9:00 PM, primarily affected the upper floor and wooden roof of the two-story stone house, while the ground floor sustained smoke damage. The residents, a foreign couple, detected the fire early and managed to evacuate the house without injury. The Fire Service responded promptly with three vehicles and brought the fire under control in approximately two hours.
