Apostolos Parellis Announces Retirement After 26 Years

Discus thrower Apostolos Parellis has announced his retirement from competitive athletics after 26 years. During his career, he represented Cyprus at three Olympic Games, with his best result being 8th place at Rio 2016, and won two gold medals at the Mediterranean Games, one silver and one bronze at the Commonwealth Games, as well as 19 Cypriot Championships. In his announcement, he thanked his family, coaches, sponsors, federations, and all those who supported him. He also expressed particular gratitude to the late Kostas Stathelakos.
