Conchita Wurst Announces Departure from Eurovision

Conchita Wurst, the winner of Eurovision in 2014, has announced her definitive departure from the competition. Through a post on Instagram, the artist explained that Eurovision was pivotal to her career but she wishes to focus on new professional endeavors. She emphasized that the decision is personal and does not mean she doesn't cherish her memories of the contest, but simply that she doesn't want to participate again. The 70th anniversary edition of Eurovision will be held in May with three nights: two semi-finals and the grand final, featuring 37 countries including Greece and Cyprus.
