Father Arrested in Connection with Shaken Baby Syndrome Case

A three-month-old baby is in critical condition at Makarios Hospital diagnosed with Shaken Baby Syndrome. The baby's father has been arrested and charged with interfering with a judicial process, as well as child abuse. The case began when the baby was taken to the hospital in serious condition. After medical examinations, it was diagnosed that the baby had sustained injuries consistent with Shaken Baby Syndrome, which is caused by violent shaking. Police launched an investigation and obtained testimonies that led to the father's arrest. According to testimonies, the father allegedly had a meeting with the owner of a shop near the family's home, where money was allegedly requested for “protection”. The shop owner testified that he was pressured to change his statement and mislead the investigation. Police continue to investigate the case and collect evidence. At the same time, an investigation is underway into a shooting in the area, involving six people in custody and three others wanted.
