New York City Issues Travel Ban Ahead of Major Snowstorm

The Mayor of New York City, Zohran Mamdani, has announced a temporary travel ban in the city due to an impending major snowstorm. The ban will be in effect from 9 p.m. to noon on Monday, local time, and roads, highways, and bridges will be closed. Only emergency and essential travel will be permitted. The mayor warned that the city has not experienced weather of this magnitude in ten years and urged residents to avoid unnecessary travel. 45-60 centimeters of snow are expected, possibly exceeding 70 in some areas. Other cities in the eastern US, such as Boston, are also preparing for the storm.
