Ten Former AEK Players Seek Transfer Ban Due to Outstanding Debts

Published December 29, 2025, 12:34

Ten former AEK players are seeking a transfer ban on the team due to debts from the old PAE. The players, through their legal representative, have filed an application with the Disciplinary Committee of the EPO, highlighting the amounts owed to them and requesting punishment for AEK. The players had appealed to arbitration committees and civil courts, where they were vindicated, but were unable to enforce the decisions due to the EPO's non-compliance. Now, following decisions by FIFA and the Court of Arbitration for Sport, which recognize sporting succession and oblige PAEs to settle the debts of former PAEs, the players are seeking to receive their money. AEK refuses to comply with the decisions of the Court of Arbitration, in contrast to other teams that were forced to settle with their players after the imposition of disciplinary penalties. The players' application is based on the need to ensure justice and legality in professional football.
